To me, it seems evident people in Ariana's sphere are enabling this, particularly her company. Her denial and insistence it's merely "body shaming" and "judging her personal choices" is a deliberate PR tactic, not just her alone. It's heartbreaking to see this happen, and it's not helping that we've gotten to a point where women are starting to refuse to have honest discussions about women they admire. On a smaller scale, people 100% had a right to criticize Olivia Rodrigo's baby doll dress costuming (within reason of discussing the choice of the clothing items themselves not directly attacking her, obviously), but her social media PR (who learned from their inability to spin Sabrina Carpenter's situation) spun it into "Olivia is being attacked for choosing to be girly/punk/wearing a dress". Now the online discourse mirrors "femininity is under attack by feminism" trad wife propaganda that gets eaten up by a lot of supposedly leftist women because so many refuse to critically think about their personal choices. PR in these labels have learned to manipulate the right buzzwords in fandom spaces and "it's her choice" is the most used one. That way they keep the men behind the curtain of these labels from public question. They learned and adapted after Britney. I guarantee, if that happened recently, these online PR teams would've spun questions and critical thinking about the conservativeship she was under as "invading her personal privacy", and would manipulate a subset fans into defending it. These labels are very much culpable. I hope someone helps Ariana. It's a heartbreaking thing to see a woman literally shrink herself, and it's disheartening to see so many women in fandom spaces refuse to think critically.

Anorexia/bulimia is a mental health issue. People who shame don’t realize that or just don’t care. Sombr openly discusses that he’s dealing it. That’s a step in the right direction. Don’t believe Grande is doing that. If so, not a good sign.
